Weekend decadence.
Friday night was spent at Vino Vino with Bong and Clement. For a combination of people who havent went out together before, I say we did fine. =) Bottles of wine, hilarious chit chat and an acoustic live band, I don't mind spending more Fridays like this. Hopefully my birthday celebration there will materialise. The staff there are just too nice!
Saturday! First up, climbed out of bed to meet the groupmates in NLB. The initial 10 am meeting started at 1pm instead, what pigs we are! But pretty fruitful discussion, though only some of us are really alert and conscious of what was going on. Changed and then headed to Esplanade for the dance performance by Akira Kasai: Pollen Revolution.
I was astounded by the body language and the intensity of the whole part one. Even someone who is not versed in dance can see his internal struggle and how much he wants to escape from the self that society wants and binds him to be. And when he finally did, the torture and the difficulty to maintain it was apparent, and highly energy charged.
But it was kinda improvised and free style, and not the organised dance that I was expecting. Yet, I'm impressed. And I was surprised to know that he's already 65! I wonder if I would be able to move the way he did at 65. haha.
Zouk next! It was some party hosted by a friend of Bong's, sponsored by SOL I think, and we were in the guestlist. Clement and Ting Feng joined us and it was pretty fun all round! I havent clubbed til Phuture closes in ages, and even techno music was fun with the right company. =) Damn why didnt we take photos! I thought we looked pretty good!
Supper at 5 since I really couldnt take the hunger anymore and then went home. Lesson of the night? Eat before clubbing!
I guess it's really not surprising that I would get such comments from them. Kinda felt insulted and yet knowing. Haha, dont know how to describe la. Maybe I need to change something.
